What motor would be best for Daily driven AOD street threat with somewhat decent dependability?

Well, since you only put 1 choice there, sounds like you pretty much have your mind made up. STROKER!!

~~EDIT~~
Ok, next time put all the choices in before hitting the go button! [8D]

stroker. 10.0:1 compression with some good cam and good exhaust will be badass

just remember, friction robs power. less friction, more power. some companies have special anti-friction coatings on their internals, with the same style internals as stock, they picked up 20 rwhp.

I don't know man, I am really fond of the 281 4.6L's. I love them! It would be some work but it would be really nice in the end. You can carb those things too....

Maybe going bigger on the modular scene, like a 5.4 DOHC? Like pulled from a late model Cobra. That would be sick!

Have you ever seen a carb'd 281? Where do you put the dizzy?

The only Cobra the 5.4 was in was a 2000 Cobra R. But you can get them out of the Navigator, and a couple of other trucks. Not really worth it in my opinion. You can make WAY more reliable power with a 5.0

someone makes a kit. i saw a carbed 97 v6 cougar at Mustangs Unlimited once. it was pretty cool, but really slow.

What does that have to do with there being no hole for the distributor on a 4.6?

some guy built up a cobra with distibuters. one for each bank off the intake cam. it was crazy.
