My son and I acquired a 1985 LX convertible in very good shape. An older lady had owned it, and it had sat for the last 3 years. The top is in great shape, mechanisms work well, no rust, etc. It looks as though we're going to have to replace the engine soon, and I am looking to see what options we have. Can anyone help me on what engines will fit and install easily into this model? Thanks!

 

4.3 V-6 stroker from super six motorsports, add a blower later on and you should be looking at low 11s-high 12s

 

my suggestion is a fuel injected 5.0 motor found in a 86 or up good gas and u can get great power and it will fit easy ive got 2 stangs an 86 gt 5 speed top and a 89 5.0 gt convertible auto both run great with those motors

be different and go with a 351 Cleveland
