i have the knock off flowmasters-force pro series mufflers, they were 30/each,i cut my exhaust off behind the catalytic converts and then just had a shop weld it together, total exhaust= 140 bucks ,but im still gonna get some tips, havent decided where or what kind tho...but thats the cheap route,it sounds really good,i like the force mufflers better than the flows...thats just my opinion though....

I ran stright pipes for about a year, low end was suffering but top end kicked ***. Now i have a x-pipe set up and i feel its the way to go...low end is much better and top end isn't too bad either.

An off-road anything is just that, off-road. Which means you won't pass inspection. If you are worried about passing inspection don't buy "off-road".

You're going to have to get the rest of the catback to weld the mufflers into; they do not attach directly to the midpipe. As Crzybiker poted an off-road X-pipe will not pass emissions, it has no cats. To pass emissions testing you will have to get a catted X-Pipe (more $$$) or have a true dual midpipe fabricated by by cutting off your stock Y-connection and welding on two sections of pipe behind your existing cats to connect to whatever catback you get. If you get a GT takeoff catback you will need an OEM muffler hanger for the right side and both exhaust tip hangers. Your car already has the correct mounting holes in the frame for these.

Force mufflers are a much better buy than flowmaster 40's

they are built and sound just like flowmaster 40 series mufflers but are only $29.88 a piece instead of $70.00/piece for flowmaster 40's

here is a link for 2.5" force mufflers that fit any 2.5" aftermarket mustang exhaust part# FRC-5202

here is a link for 2.25" force mufflers that fit GT takeoff exhaust part# FRC-5201

here is a sound clip of the force mufflers. my procharged 98 with more expensive flowmaster 40's sounds exactly like the Force mufflers

dammit. the links to the summit store don't work on this site. they work just fine over at 3.8mustang

here is a link to a thread over there about the force mufflers and you can click the working direct links in my 3.8mustang post
