You can get an alarm for it, but honestly-- it's not really worth it. The thiefs aren't going to know there's an alarm until after they break the window anyways. So technically its not going to prevent that from happening anyways. Honestly, if you're worried about it, park in areas where there are lots of people (for example at stores) and park next to nice cars than your own.n

4 of my friends cars have been broken into in the last year, and my car was next to their cars each and every time. I don't have anything visible that they'd want to steal (any change is in the middle console, etc) so it doesn't tempt them. Also, I think that that little fake theft system honestly deters people because they think there's an alarm. I dunno, knock on wood though-- in case my car has bad luck now. lol.

I used to work at Target in a pretty rough area of town and never had any issues with someone trying to break in, and I definitely had the nicest car of all my coworkers... so I wouldn't be overly concerned about it. Just hide your stuff and don't flaunt it if you've got it. My boyfriend used to flaunt his ghetto subs and stuff and last week the whole $800 system was jacked-- probably because he flaunts it around that same bad area I used to work in. [&:]

Not worth it. If you are really THAT paranoid about what happens to your car, then go for it. If it eases you during the day, then there shouldn't be anything stopping you. But me. I manage to drive my Mustang to a high school five times a week. I park it in a safe, unassuming spot(although everyone in the school knows what I drive, haha) and hope for the best. But IMHO, the alarm isn't worth it.

Do the Mustangs come with alarms? Or is the sound and blinking light just a sign that your car is locked? If I was you I would just do what rockthepony said and "hide your stuff." Believe me when I say this I know how you feel, if I were to see someone touch my stang with anything other than a lint free cloth...j/k but I love my Stang too and I have a nice stereo but I don't really "flaunt it" and when I don't have it in the garage I hide my faceplate and lock everything up tight! Good Luck to all of you!

You are right! I do not have an alarm on my car yet and I work in Oakland. Every weekend, I am somewhat worried about my car because it is my only transportation. If I still had my wreckless 2000 Corolla, I would worry a little over the edge. Besides, Mustangs are hard to hotwire these days pending on the year of car. I would not w o r r y.... B R E A T H and take a chill-pill.
