I needed to get new brakes for a while, so I took it in to the dealership to change them and to also check out why my Service Engine Soon light was goin off.
I'm at work and my cell has no service so they called my dad and told him that it was 200-somethin for brakes since the rotors were worn out. Thats fine, no big deal, I was expecting something like that..
Then they told him that it was going to cost 650 to repair a recirculating fan in the manifold and replace the relay. I'm not sure exactly because this was coming from my dad. Anyone want to elaborate on this for me?

yeah yeah, i don't want to hear anything about taking it to a dealership, I was more than willing to take it to a shop down the street, but my dad was pushin me to get it done at the dealership and offered to pay for it so I took him up on it... But thats not what I was looking to hear ...
Thats what I was more interested in. I don't know anything about the emission stuff and was hoping someone could either, 1) explain it to me or 2) show me a link explaining it
What is a recirculating fan in the manifold?

anyone have a link to the emission stuff .. because apparently w/o this repair my cats would get clogged or something like that ... *second hand things I'm calling the dealership in a minute*
