Default pypes exhaust

i just got in from putting on new mufflers, i bought these pro v mufflers which sound great. highly reccomend this company. i paid 150 for the mufflers and it was simple to replace the mufflers that came with the cat back from pypes. the mufflers the system come with are maximizers which are very low. they said i shouldnt get provs because it may be too much flow and not enough back pressure. i tried both ways they were right too much flow facing the right way, i reversed it and now it has enough back pressure not to feel anything. very sick sound

Didn't flipping the mufflers around cause the sound to change? Doesn't seem like it would cause the same resonance since the "V" would be catching so much air...I have the pro-v's too, they do sound awesome. But since you still have your cats it doesn't seem you would have any lack-of-backpressure problems, even with the mufflers right. I don't even have cats...I have a lack of backpressure...but I like the ease it allows the engine to rev in the higher rpms.

it felt like i had no mufflers on when i had them on with the V facing the engine. the main reason i switched them was so that the would mount correctly, i have a inlet centered and out 2 1/2 offset. these were opposite.

I didn't notice what year stang you have...that's probably why you felt more loss since you have less power (not to be mean or anything). I kinda wish I had gone with cats but the extra 160 bucks told me NO!

How in the hell did you lose power, me I don't know exactly how much I gained, but my 0-60 times went down almost half a second so how in the hell could this be. Now I do have a totally different setup, but damn, all dual systems do the same thing, you better retest your runs or something because this just doesn't make sence.

All cars react differently...but you're there and can feel what happens so if it makes it faster, then do it!
