I want to replace my stock shifter with a short throw...would aamco do the swap for me or any other type of tranny shop?

Maybe, but you'll have to call and ask, and do call around to get some prices so you can get the best deal possible.

i wouldnt pay someone to do it for 5 dollars. Its an easy swap. All it is is 8 bolts and your done. refer to this website for pics and step by step install. this is the same for any style short throw.

but again if your dont have a socket set , i would pay no more that 20-30 bux for it. Just explain to them you know how to do it but you have no tools and thiers not that much work involved and they shouldnt rip you off.

Definitely find somone with some tools to do this job. It's simple maybe half an hour and you are done.

if you get more noise than you like through the shifter,which is known to happen when putting an aftermarket shifter in. i believe somebody either on 3.8mustang.com or v6power.net makes and sells gaskets that isolate the noise

It is a way easy install when you get yours just take a look at how easy your stock comes off nad that bolts right up then the hardest part which is also easy as pie would be setting each gear but it only takes like 5 minutes.
