to speed things up, if you don't make much money, don't bother with any appearence mods. put all your money on the vroom vroom side of modding. my car looks completely stock on the outside. there's a reason for that though. i like it to sit in a parking lot and people scoff thinking it's stock, until they hear it start up.

buy a nitrous kit for your car and some 4.10 gears with t-lok. you'll really wake her up then. you won't spend more than 1500 doing that either.

there are a few V6 mustang that are running 10's in the 1/4 mile I believe...supersixmotorsports and vmptuning have two of them, so it's an engine with a lot of potential.

Why do so many people think the 3.8 block is weak? A few of my GT buddies say that if I run Turbo on it it will blow! They said it's not made for performance and it will never work. They are idiots, and most people on this site know better than that.

The Essex block is awesome for performance. Ford didn't use it to its full potential, but it doesn't mean we can't

Also, I heard that the 3.8 essex is better than the 4.0 in the new Mustangs. I could be wrong about that one though.

the 4.0s respond better to bolt ons. you get like 10 rwhp from a CAI, if you go F/I then the essex block is better

Not to down the sixers (i have a 98 v6, 5speed) but i feel like i'm wasting my time. and i almost dont want to put anymoney into the car. its a bummer cuz its hard to find performance parts for the sixes. i want to buy a single turbo kit or TT kit for the 3.8 but ive only found 1 site TMAturbo.com that makes it for our cars. But then (not to say i really really know what im talking about but) the blocks cant really handle the power and dont really make all that much impressive power anyway. i dunno what do you guys think? im just bumming myself out cheer me up guys.
there is always a procharger or a supercoupe M-90 swap

i know the 98's are slow but they can be made to eat 99+ stangs for less money than you think. i have an 11psi procharger and you would not believe the difference it makes. it runs and hides from my 99 GT vert.

the 3.8 ford was a modified copy of buicks stage 1 block which was the basis for the 3.8L buick in the grand national. ford eliminated deficiencies in buick's design when they copied it. you don't see many people saying it is a waste of time to mod a GN motor and it is not a waste of time to mod the 3.8.

$5000 will get you low 13's no problem with a prochrger and $5000 will get you into the 11's with a turbo if it's done right and parts are picked up cheap. turbo i would get an HX35 from a wrecked dodge cummins turbo diesel and have Andy at TMA build the rest of the kit. have justin at www.vmptuning.com set up a chip and have it dyno tuned

www.rpm-mustangs.com is a great source for engine parts as is www.supersixmotorsports.com and www.moranav6racing.com

there is no lack of parts for the for 3.8. yes we don't have the aftermarket heads tha a 5.0 has but just look at the power ported stock heads support. far more power than you can make with stock E7TE 5.0 heads

mod it you will love it and you won't be wasting your money
