not all 04's are 3.9L...there are actually probably more 3.8's than 3.9's from 04...they were only introduced halfway through the year.

been looking at 2006 GT and they are way to pricy, i rather get another Bemer for that price. Has anyone had a procharger or turbo in there V6, before i go to bed dreaming for a better car. I have to schedule by next week to get the parts so they can start i by mid Feb. I do love the 2004 v6 i got, all shined up and maintained well. just wanna know if doing this wont make me feel sad of wasting the $$$. Just have 8000miles still. Got two Vehicles an Bmw x5 SUV and the stang for summer.

 

i hope that guy wasn't referring to WHP. just blow your v6. if you're the first owner of your v6, just keep it and throw on a super. you could buy a used GT or mach, but you don't know how well it was taken care of. at least with your car, you know it's been babied and has much life left in it.

i will, im keeping the car for now and everytime i look at the car it just shines like better than brand new. I will ask more info about the tuner. He told me that i wont be needing the Superchips anymore coz of the new programs he is putting on it. Just got done modding thw BMW and time for the stang for more attention. Lots of work for these pony but i think it would be great for a SC or rpocharger on it. As i saw in the poll go for Procharger....
How fast HP most of you guys with SC increased? Beside the SC anything after that? New tires? got a GT tire of 2002 im using right now with a z type of tires. I will get the pix this week to update my profile

 

Only the last half of 04 production...the first half was 3.8s...I'm just not getting it! Someone wants to go thru the expence of a Procharger and all that comes with it and then they talk about getting a Mach or a GT.....JHC!!! Save your money and get what you want and keep it!

 

Hi Traveler, got the same color of your 2004, with your upgrades.... how fast you think its going now. I dont have UD pully yet, but i dont know if the installer will advice to do pullyes to with the SC

 

Not sure yet..but I know it's quick...everyone here seems to think that the 04 3.9 Auto can only do to high 15s or low 16s. At this point I'm inclined to believe low to mid 15s. I'm more of a purist with engine mods. I'm going for internal upgrades before I go turbo or sc. I think...what's the point of having a good turbo or sc if you're not willling to do first things first. If I'm going to have a hot rod then I should be willing to build it ... elsewise just leave it alone. My next mod will be gearing and t-lock....I might be willing to spend the bucks first on a performance C4 trans....when I can get it to the upper to mid 14s then if I want more a procharger might be an option. It completely depends on the cost of daily maintainence....
My plan this year is:
do modest engine and intake/exhaust mods
move to the upgraded C4
move to gearing and t-lock
go to supersixperformance and get the stage 2 kit
move to frame support upgrades
move to chipping

 

No one really does...that's just the way ford did it. Just be happy you got a tenth of a liter over the other sixers...
