no, its more than not the other way around, if you mod your engine, some mods require a port job.

Ive been told it will cost about 800 for a shop to do a port job for me, is that about right?

i couldnt tell you that, but the majority of the cost would go to labor, because thats really all it is.

Well as nice as a link as that is, there is still no substitute for years of experiance, or in other words, it's still much better to let a shop do the job, because if they screw up, they pay for it, if you screw up, you're stuck with the bill. And here's a really big problem with the DIY port job. If you don't have a dyno and the proper tuning device, then how the hell can you reset your air to fuel mixture to allot fot the newly added airflow, and a port job still doesn't do much HP wise as the key to the whole damn thing is the cam, just doing a port will add HP, but not that much.

Umm Jeremy, on the newer stangs with OBDll, the ecm learns. It relearns and makes adjustments by itself.

its all about breathing , for all you guys that have high flow exausts , just think about this : its coming out alot easier means less stress on the engine , but if it can breathe easier that adds HP too.
