Staight Pipes
im gettin a set of gt take offs this week, can someone post a site where they bought an off road x pipe? to connect to the take offs? one that will bolt to the take offs. or will i have to weld the x pipe to the gt's? say i bought the x pipe from pypes for my car, would it bolt to the take offs? im goin in circles, someone just answer plzzzzzzz
get take offs need to be welded on, correct me if im wrong yellow... but i think you can nig** rig it, get some flow tubes from pypes connect that to the x pipe, expand the muffler inlets and c clamp em together??
Well here's my two sense, get some type of V6 x pipe, screw straights and h pipes, they don't sound the best on a six and do cause a pretty nice loss in backpressure, and then get a GT aftermarket catback system, because it will come with all of the needed parts and you'll know that your exhaust line is new, so that way if you have any problem with the pipes, it's under warrenty, if you don't have much cash then get Flows or Pypes, PM yellowponey or nexmex for advice on the right one, if you have some cash and want a good sound go with Magnaflows, if you have a lot of cash and want a great sound go with Borlas.
wheres a site to some gt take offs.....and also i thought the gt take offs was the complete dual exhaust from headers back to tips?...i dont see where it makes sense to buy that and then change to x pipe and change the mufflers? just buy the catback system u want or go have the muffler shop fab u one for a lot cheaper?
u dont lose significant power with no mufflers,i had mine cut off behind the cats for a while and it wasnt near ricey and i only saw Very minimal low-end power loss...
If u do run straight pipes,it will def sound loud, somewhat deep, but not very smooth at all...the muffler softens the sound in attempt to make it deeper and a Whole lot smoother..just overall sounds better...id get the mufflers....if u save the pipe from where u cut behind the cats then u should only have to pay for the pipes on the other side, should be only like 90 bucks or so(44 to muffler and 44 from muffler to tailpipe)..and then ud have to pay for the mufflers u want and maybe small labor fee but i didnt.......also u cut ur y pipe After the o2 sensors right?so u still have em hooked up?

well the ones on 3.8mustang are cut off like a foot before the muffler.......hmm i thought some sponsor had them for the whole thing-headers back....maybe not but i dont see the point in buying this and then changing out the mufflers....
edit...if its not a complete system then yeah get rid of the y for a better catback system...
