Take a look at my install

#1. Not sure what you mean about an extra MAF plug

#2. The thunking sound could be the CAI tube bumping the strut tower fender section. It doesn't touch until you drive the car or rev the engine.

3#. Make the breather tube fit. I remember that as a problem, but I can't remember what I did.

What year is the car. Some had Air Temp Sensors in the tube. You CANNOT bypass it. My K&N came with a plug for the hole, cus later ones didn't have the sensor in the tube.

i think the extra plug is the IT sensor cuz i pulled the codes and thats what came up.
its a 99 v6 manual.
the plug wont fit anywhere on the intake...
im sure im not the only one that this happened to but the CEL bothers me.

And you bought it where? E-Bay?? These are the problems we speak of with generic CAI's. You're gonna either have to drill a hole, line it with a gromet to install the IAT, or buy another CAI. Oh and, with the CEL on, you will never pass a smog check..LEGALLY.

Look at where it is on the old intake tube. Drill it there on the new one. It MUST fit tight. So before you drill anything, get a grommet that fits tight around the sensor, and drill the hole so the grommet fits tight into it.

Look at the pic and answer the question....
