But can't I hold it in gear as is? Just move the shift lever? Or push the EOD buton?

I have mine but its in a box in my room. My stang isn't comming outta the garage for a month or so yet (winter sucks!) but I cant wait to get it in. Im glad to hear that they work as well as I was told!

I bought the Transgo shift kit
Yea beleive me u'll love it. before i had the kit i ran a 16.7 in the 1/4 mile. After the kit i ran 15.9. I havent been to the track since i've done more things but you'll feel the difference. I get tire cherps when the tranny shifts.
Meh..I BARK second, and chirp 3rd too. And with a tuner only.
i chirp second and im stock, so its only 1 tire[&o] and those are some crappy times, you should be able to run high 15s stock heres a slip jthorne

That's what I'm thinking also...as it is right now I should be able to run mid 15 to mid-low..say 15.60 to 15.40....Although I still think the shift kit is a good idea...not sure how it works though...can't I already hold the transmission in any gear and just move the lever? I would never downshift an auto from high speed.

yes i sport shift alot, and if you go from first to second, the tranny, A.)holds second no matter what, and B.)firms up the shifts so a stock car will actually chirp second gear caues i do it all the time, then i found out i was getting 12 mpg and backed off a little, i would just get a diablo pretator tuner and you can adjust all limiters, shift points and firmness.

not really, a 99-04 v6 auto stock will usually run high 15's- 16's, som are faster than others, thats just they way it is. if your car is a stock auto and ran 15.8 thats pretty good, but not all auto's run that.

NOT. Best I did semi stock, with original gears was mid 16's. But I kept burning out 1 tire all the way through 1st. And the 16.4 I did run, I still slipped a little. So, stock mid 16's. MAYBE on a perfect launch low 16's. And don't EVEN say I was a noob to drag racing. FAR from it. I used to run a 70 302 fastback when Baylands was still a drag strip.

not what? that he ran 15.8 stock, or that there are no v6 mustangs running 16's stock.

An 05 or 06 will, but not the new edge or sn95 stock ones.
