Default redline power module?

I installed this little inexpensive mod this weekend called a redline power module (chip). It goes inline on the air temp. sensor. It really seemed to give me some getty-up. Is it in my head? What does this thing do? I was told, by a friend of mine, that it tells the computer that the air coming in is colder than it is? I just see a lot of these things and thought others may want to know as well. Thanks.

Does it look like a resistor? If so...take it out. It can damage the ECU.

Ya it should work you should also get a turbonator or two for some serious power

It's actually just a small box. I have heard of the resistor trick though. It could be, huh? Maybe I'll take a multimeter and check that baby out closer. Thanks. I thought turbonators were a no-no. I read that on this site as well. What the hell is a turbonator anyway? Later.

all it does is change the IAT signal to read colder air temps than it actuall is therefore more fuel and timing can be used by the computer.

this is a bad thing as 3.8's do not have Knock sensors to automatically retard timing incase of knock. it can ruin your engine by too much detonation (which you don't always hear with your ear)

my advise take it off before you do damage to your engine and get your money back

Read post #6 in this thread. Cobra232 pretty much summed it up.
