Um Jthorn he had 1 less hp stock than you do modded. Your reading musta been off
umm his readings must be off or his mods aren't helping too much. I have my dyno sheet right in front of me which I posted on the forums not too long ago. 145 hp stock rating * 15% drivetrain loss = 22hp. 145hp - 22hp = 123hp. My 124hp is right on the money.

namezod is right. Jthorn must have had those dyno numbers when he was stock, at least I hope so.

Nope, dynoed about 3 weeks ago in Port Allen, right outside of Baton Rouge. And another thing, autos loose much more hp to the rear wheels, then manuals and because the tachometer wasn't working right because of my 9mm stang wires the computer calculated my torque which came out to like 240lbs of torque, but Alberto said it is probably overshot by about 12 torque, so That's why I just say about 230lbs of torque, and for my tranny tweaks, and my nice burst of accelleration (all things being considered) 230lbs of torque is about right give or take 5lbs of torque. I'm gonna go back after I do my next engine mod, and get a rerun. Now I'm not telling you what I'm gonna do, 1.) suprise 2.) I don't want to get called a post ***** or somthing else for saying I'm gonna do somthing and not do it, but let me put it like this, my next mod will cost close to 3K with installation and will push me damn near 200rwhp, and no, it's not a S/C or T/C.

Oh, now thery'res always the possibility that the dyno was way off, but I doubt that.

this is depressing! I cant wait till my engine blows so I can get a better one. Your opinion, a 4.2 or a 05's 4.0? Those new mustangs have lots of power on the v6's and a **** load of parts
can i get some more info on this. I dont mean to be a heretic, but these 3.8 engines are just to damn hard to work with. I dont have much money and it takes a hell of a lot of work to get anything out of it. When my engine blows I dont want to replace it with a 3.8 so Id like to learn my options now. im more aware of the 4.0 and its parts since my father owns a 05 v6, but what about the 4.2. Whats the stats on that, parts availabilty, and what is that even out of? Id liek to stay with a v6 so I dont have to get higher insurance, more gas, confusion of v8 swapping, and i still have my unique title of v6. So how do these compare, and any more options?

oh yea, and my current engine has 118k on it, so its kinda mid life I guess.

Also, if a 4.2 was thrown in, would it match up to the drive train? Im considering gears soon, but it would be a waste to get gears and then have to trow out the axle because of a new engine...

A 4.2L is basically long stroke 3.8L with some internal mods. rdmotorsport.com sells a conversion kit and can give you much more info on it than I can. But I am pretty sure that if you want forced induction, you'll have to go with a high output, or fully ported 3.8L kit, as I don't think the 4.2L kit is really for F/I, but yet again, you'll have to research that.
