Not much on our cars. The coil pack probably. On older cars, the dist. cap, and carb.

doesn't the manual say to cover up the air filter, the alternator and the battery? i may be mistaken, just going off memory.

Maybe. I've used GUNK plenty of times. I never covered the battery, or alt. And on our cars, inless you have a CAI, the air filter is in a box. So, if you have a CAI, definatly cover it.

so, there is no problem with giving your engine a bath (using a power sprayer, for example)?

Cool, so really you don't need to cover anything up exept the filter.

I DON'T recommend using a power washer. Just spray it down with GUNK and rinse off. Make sure the engine is warm, but not at operating temp.

EDIT
Just don't rinse it where a cop might see you. Some places frown on putting haz mat into the storm drain, or in the ground.

I'd be scared to use a pressure washer too. too much chance that pressurized water will find it's way somewhere bad.
