Default Engine Swaps

I drive a 2003 3.8L v6, auto transmission, and have been considering changing engines out to a bigger model.
I don't know a whole lot about cars, and am curious to what extent this would require altering the rest of the car.
I am not opposed to changing my transmission to a manual, but I have to wonder what else would need to be done.
Would a 351 from a Ford Tarino have any prayer of working? I have the entire Tarino driveshaft and everything to go with it...

if you want a V-8 sell it and buy a GT. Dont do a motor swap in a 03 when you have so much preformance mods available.

1.) go to supersixmotorsports.com and get a 4.3 stroker
2.) go with a TT system
3.) go with a bunch of bolt-ons, 4.10 gears and a t-lok.

with the first two i would say go with gears and a detroit or auburn posi as they are stronger units, also get a shift kit and a torque convertor

and can we get a sticky please................even though no one reads them

Alright thanks for the advice.
Those 4.3 long rods *are* nice.

take a look at www.rpm-mustangs.com also

have you ever heard of a Buick grand national? if so you can be pleased to know that the 3.8 ford was copied from the forunner of the GN engine.

bothe ford and buick 3.8's are beasts that can be built to deliver anything a V8 can give you

Yes, they are well-made.

In all reality, I have nothing against v6's but don't know much about aftermarket additions or modifications that are possible.
