Default Test drove the GT/CS today

So after my dad kept telling me about all the money I'm wasting on my car when I could upgrade and get a GT, I went to the Ford dealership today and test drove a 2007 Mustang GT/CS... I really wasn't all that impressed... The salesman really didn't let me open it up much in the top end where I assume it really shows its colors and only let me take it around the block the dealership was on, but still... it didn't feel that much faster than my 6er when I nailed it in first and second... I mean, of course the takeoff was quicker and it revved a little higher, but I was expecting a lot more! Plus the handling felt so nonresponsive and compared to my Tri-ax, that shifter felt so sloppy and unsure! My biggest complaint about it had to be the gas pedal... it felt so... yuck... It was too... I don't even know how to explain it but I didn't have that connection with the car! It didn't feel right! So when we went back I showed them my car and they told me they could give me $2000 trade-in for mine... haha... and then after telling him I couldn't care less for the looks and was concerned about performance, he tried to sell me a 99 V6 with a Saleen body kit. When I asked what it had done under the hood he laughed and said "Kid it's only a 6-banger, they don't waste money on those!" I couldn't believe he said that! Needless to say I won't be spending upwards of $20k for that car and will be holding onto my "6-banger" for a while and will be sure to go back to that dealership when I get my exhaust on and set off a couple alarms! The whole feel of the car was just off! I'd love to drive an 03/04 Cobra... I'm sure that would be fun! The whole car just didn't seem to have any personality... The fact that I felt so disconnected from the car and that it wasn't as great as I expected really let me down. Something from the same body style that I'm used to might be a little more enjoyable. And then again on that handling... it really felt like I was plowing into that turn... well, I think my next test drive is going to be a Mini Cooper S, the other car I was going to get instead of the Stang!

Nice. I also test drove the new 07 GT droptoop.Wow that thing is really impressive performance wise. Torque of that car is bad ****in *** and its fast. It had some nice BF Goodrich KDWs in the back so it was hooking pretty well . I fell in love with the car but cant afford it. I just went to c what those things can really do. Also they have awesome weight distribution 50/50,sweet

For those of you not noticing a difference, it was probably cause you just drove them around town like you do normally. I feel a difference in performance in a car, you have to open both of them up. Any RWD car is gonna feel the same as another RWD car just driven normally, unless one has rediculously higher low end torque.

the dealer had me go out on the highway and let it rip. it was pretty damn sweet, and i noticed a big difference but it just wasnt what i was expecting.
