alright so i got a friend who just got a 2003 v6 mustang, and he begged me to post up on here and ask what the loudest possible exhaust he can put on it for around 6 hundred bucks or less...he doesnt care about the note too much, hes just a little punk who wants a super load car. thanks guys.

question would an exhaust with all 4 cats and no mufflers have enough back pressure to not hurt anything and would an exhaust with no cats and 2 mufflers be ok?

 

you do not want no mufflers it will be really annoying and very sensitive on the throttle. a lot of people, myself included, have an o/r h or x pipe, with their choice of mufflers. most people would say, and i would agree that flowmaster 40 series is probably one of if not the loudest legal muffler.

 

what does an h or x pipe do? mine just has 2 seperate ones that dont connect.

 

they equalize the exhaust flow. theyre not necessary in a v6 mustang because the firing order is identical from side to side, but they do help with giving a more lower tone, and are required on any v8 mustang, or else the car will knock like a bitch.

but yeah, send him to an exhaust shop and have them put straight pipes from the headers out the back (or sides if he wants). If you've got emmissions,he'll fail emmissoins, and I guarantee you, with straight pipes a cop will have his *** about 10 minutes after he pulls out of the shop.

 

my wife put the flowmaster super 40's on her mustang it sounds real close if not almost the same as an 8 in my opinion ihave the roush sm01 side pipes on mine they sound good too not quite as deep though.
