can anyone let me know if this looks safe? that it won't harm my car if i put it in? i bought it cus i liked the description of what it can do for car .. but didnt think about any downsides to it ...

I'd never buy something for 8 bucks off ebay that's called a chip. It looks like to me its a capacitor or something that messes with the signal the MAF sensor sends tot he ECU, tricking it into thinking more air is coming in, thus dumping in more fuel, but I could be wrong.

 

Thats what it does. Thats bad, adding more fuel in without adjusting the spark timing. But some of them do adjust the spark timing which is good. I have on of the cheap chips too that does adjust the timing and i notice a little better throttle response.... gas gauge drops a little faster than normal....
