Default New here, first mustang.

Ok, I'm new to the Mustang world, I just picked this one up a couple of days ago for 4700. It's a nice 2000 white V6 with 83,000 miles on it. It's in awesome shape. This is my first Mustang and I love it! Getting used to the small space though, my last car was a 98 Dodge Intrepid.... Big car.... Well I'm not the best around when it comes to upgrading cars and such, I know a bit, but not a whole lot. I was curious if you guys had any small easy things that would give it some more hp. Do those cheap chips work on eBay? They claim to give like 35 more hp and they cost like $10 shipped, so it's kind of hard to believe. But what other things can be done, small jobs that are fairly easy to do. You can never have too much hp. Thanks alot

no those chips dont really work. do you think modding a car is cheap??? buy a used tuner off this forum for around 200 bucks if you want to tune your car for some horsepower...

Lol, no I didn't think it was cheap, that's why I found it hard to believe. Where on the forums would I find a used tuner? Any other small, easy ideas? Thanks

just drop a K&N air filter in there and remove the air silencer and than tune it i guess...

go to the parts for sale section all the way at the bottom of the home page

Ok, thanks, I will do that tomorrow. I'm going to check around for the k&n filters tomorrow and see if anybody has them without having to order them. When I get that I will take out the air silencer. So the next step after that would be getting a tuner? I'm working from scratch trying to learn as I go, this car has no mods to it, just a factory car, fully loaded though. I've been doing alot of research onwhat you guys do to your mustangs to get some more power outof them,I'm not looking to spend thousands upon thousands at the moment, so I'm just trying to do small things for now and work my way up. Thanks alot for the help.

What about a cold air intake off ebay? How difficult is it to put one of them in? Some of them come with reusable air filters, are they as good as the k&n? Or if I was to get a cold air intake, should I put a k&n on it anyways??

Ok, I took out the air silencer and threw in a K&N air filter. Lol, I'm not sure if I really can feel a little more power or if it's just in my head.... It feels a little better, I think at least. So my next step would definately be a tuner now? Nothing more small I can do?

Thanks alot

Welcome to the site. I'm partial to 2000 white V6 Mustangs.

Look at things you actually bolt to the car for power gains. Open up the exhaust. Open up the intake. Go from there. When looking at stuff on ebay follow this rule: If it's cheap, there is a reason for that. Power isn't cheap.
