I'm looking to get back in a v6 mustang. My vette is just too much for everyday use,; I'm keeping it, but I need a daily driver that gets good gas mileage. I just put a new belt tensioner onyesterday and destroyed it and cracked the flexplate on a WOT run through3rd gear. [:@]I guess some parts were just not meant for500hp @ 6500rpms!

I refuse to drive a prius or something similar,but a v6 mustang will work. I have some specifics though; It needs to be a 94-04 (prefer ~99-01). It needs tohave a standard transmission. Mods are welcome but not a selling point with me. It can be a little rough mechanically, but I want it to look as good as possible. I'm looking to stay under 5.5K. The cheaper the better. High mileage welcome. Looking for something in the Houston area, dallas area, or anywhere in between; most of Louisiana also. Let me know what you've got!

Mods, please don't move. Want every 6er possible to see this, don't think it'd get much attention elsewhere.

I've done alot of searching, just haven't stumbled on the right one. Don't shoot me, but I've also kicked around getting a eagle talon tsi. Turbo, awd, standard, and very cheap on insurance and gas. Just thinking...

 

Why not get something else? Honestly, I think if you're looking for a fuel saver, you're looking in the wrong direction. You probably need something like a 2 door focus.

 

Wow! I'm not looking for an econobox. I'm lucky to get 15mpg combined with my vette, on 5 dollar a gallon 100 octane. I'd like something a little better, still look good with some style, and have a little potential for future mods, that's all.

I haven't made up my mind that I'm buying another car, I'm just weighing my options.

I got way better gas mileage in my old mustang than in the vette, and the vette just isn't quite as dependable as I'd like. The 3.8L engine, in my experience, is a great engine if maintained.

 

I bought mine while hunting for a gas sipper, but it came down to safety. I don't want to be in a car that'll fold up like a wet paper bag when soccer mom slams into me.

Just keep checking your local paper out and look over auto trader, you'll find something eventually.

I'd look into the following along with a stang.

Camaro V6
Eagle Talon
3000 GT
Dodge Spider
Import a Nissan Skyline (believe it or not you can get one modestly cheap from japanpartner.com)

 

That's about in line with what I'm looking for. Here's my list, most preferred at top:

mustang
talon tsi
dodge stealth (cool cars)
3000 gt
modded eclipse
supra

It has to be a standard, and the last5 must be turbo'd. And if I did geta mustang, could you guess the first mod?

I've found some candidates. Sadly, I'm 60 miles away from a town bigger than mine (8000 people) so I have to find a really good deal to even go look at one.
