Default Venting time...

Ok, so very rarely do I ever vent about something, especially over the internet, but here I go and let's see if you guys can "show me the light"...

When I first got my 98 3.8 auto coupe, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. Mind you I was driving a 11 year old, beaten, baby-blue metro with a beastly 1L in it at the time, and I haven't had anything handed to me so I didn't know what a nice car really was. As time went on, I realized my car SUCKD horribly in every single aspect that there is. Ok, I'll try to hit each one, if I can remember them all...

With the drivetrain, probably the worst performance mustang Ford has released in the last 15 years. I don't pay too much attention to imports, but I believe alot of Civics have higher hp ratings...

Fat...

HORRIBLE fuel economy! "Ooo, a v6, that'll be better on gas than those guzzlin v8's"...Umm, no. My looked up my rating and it is rated at 17mpg. Thats horrible! My coworkers lightly modified v8 (same year) is rated at 18 and he said he consistently gets in the 20-24mpg range. I consistently get in the 17-20 range.

I don't even want to start with the performance line-up. You pay twice as much, and get half the results as a v8, and I always thought that was a rice characteristic...What a waste of my money...

"Ok Nic, sure you named alot of things, but think of the insurance! Your young, no insurance company is going to take you without a royal screwin...." I just got a qoute for a 2000GT, and with the same coverage it is 6% LESS than my v6.

So, I ask you, how is my v6 better in ANYaspect than a v8?
Nic

*^Currently very much considering a 99-04 GT stick....

Haha, cool as a cucumber now

Im just alittle upset that I bought Ford's Worst Mustang created in the last 15 years. Understandable I think...

Defintly considering the GT, but you know how money is. I'm already working 2 jobs to put myself through med school, money is tight for cars..

I went through the same thing and couldn't agree more. I bought a 94 v6 mustang and i thought wow this is an awesome car! When i actually learned things about cars i started to hate it. Although it was was reliable and decent looking it was horrible on performance and the gas wasn't great either.

Honestly im upset with all the performance numbers within the mustangs before the S-197 there horrible, i dont think i will ever own any SN-95 again.

Its up to you on what you want to do. Im sure youll find better satisfcation in a GT.

If you go to upgrade skip the GT trim unless its an S197.

But if you do stay with an SN-95 get a 4v V8, like a Cobra or a Mach 1. The 2v GT's heads suck so bad its not even funny.

Ok, lots to answer..

First off, I think the 94-98 is pretty sharp looking. I like how it is more rounded and flows, as opposed to the alot of the others that have sharp edges. Sweet looking, horrible everything else.

I agree with Pnkhead. It's just an outright bad car. Underpowered v6+ heavy+ auto = crap

NY. Theres no way Im going to waste any more money. Like I said, it makes me sick to think how much I've put in the car just maintaining it, and 200hp/270tq is still pretty bad...

And 03, no, proper care isn't an issue. I get my oilchanges and stuff practically free through my job, so I dont skimp on anything.
