Whelp we sold the Passat.
Downgraded a bit for the DD car but she got her car.
We bought a 1968 Mustang in primer black for April and a 1999 Subaru Outback to replace the Passat and we had $1000 left over from selling the Passat.
Its a good solid car that just needs a few things to be done.
It needs a new electric choke, seats suck because they dont adjust, clutch cable retrofit needs to be redone, flaming river box needs a new gasket, wiring needs to be cleaned up, needs different springs in the front, needs correct offset rims so the tires dont rub and it needs a good detailing.
The inerior should be redone, its original and was blue but was sprayed black.
The Mustang say for a little over a year after the engine was done so all the polished stuff lost their shine thanks to the salty bay area air. Nothing a good buffing cant take care of on most of it.
So really the looks were left to be done last, its a great runner and handles nice.
Here is a run down on what it has.
*Built 302 roller overbored to a 306 with forged rods and pistons. Less than 2000 miles.
*Ported cast iron heads from a 1993 mustang GT. Harland Sharp roller rockers.
*Holley 600cfm carb
*Holley electric fuel pump
*Ford Racing valve covers, air cleaner.
*hooker super comp long tube headers.
*Flowmaster series 40 2-champer mufflers.
*X-Pipe
*electric fan.
*thick 3 core aluminum radiator.
*MSD ignition and wires
*Ford Racing world class T5 5spd transmission.
*Ford Racing King cobra clutch.
*Hurst shifter.
*New edelbrock and summit suspension and springs. Poly bushings and thicker swaybars.
*Edelbroke shocks.
*Flaming river manual steering box.
*Power disk brakes
*Corbeau GTS Seats (version I)
The pics dont do it justic, they were taken with my HTC Evo 3D in the rain so not the best.
We are going to finish the body prep, reseal and then we are going to plasti-dip it till we are ready to paint it. It neesd all the trim still but thats all small stuff.
Bad photo but you get the idea of what the interior is like.

Oh yeah, trust me, she will!
Its a beast of a motor, it just sounds perfect.
It didnt have the right handle on it though, it had the regular handle for a fox body on it instead of the long one for the Classic.
We drove it from Hayward (Just below San Fran) up to Redding (In heavy rain.) She was the driver and I shifted for her because she couldnt reach it.
Hell I couldnt reach it hardly when I was in the drivers seat, but because the seats dont go back I couldnt get my foot off the clutch because my knee would wedge below the steering wheel.
So it was a group effort to get it back home, lol.
We were looking at handles and they average $130+, a bit pricey and you have to use the old school **** threading. I think I am just going to make one, its cheaper and I can thread it to use the ***** we already have, we have an impressive collection of every SN95 and New Edge shift ball minus one of two. :P
The drive up in the rain was very smooth, her last 68 hated the rain and let you know it.
The only thing I noticed was that a little water was getting in under the dash on the far pass side, easy fix though.

I like that a lot! Nothing like a classic.
Here is a vid of April revving it up a bit.
You can hear the carb needs to be tuned a bit, we might just go with a street avenger because I have had great luck with them before.
Thats our oldest Autumn, we told her it was as quiet as a Prius BOY was she surprised! lol

lol, she got offered a 60,xxx mile 1997 6spd Trans Am WS6 today for a straight trade on the Mustang. Crazy thing is she is thinking about it.
Its Black on Black, t-bar (of course) with the audio conrtolls on the steering wheel and ram air. I guess that means it has every option blah blah.
Sure its a beautiful car but the Mustang only needs paint to be just as pretty and be worth more.
