So i've had 10 percent on my windows for about 2 1/2 months. Got pulled over today and given a fat ticket. No speeding, No careless and wreckless... just for the tint. What a waste of time that evil female cop spent on me.... looked her in the eye and said "its not coming off"

170$ to pay it off.

 

in virginia its 50% in the front and 35% on the back! each time you get hit.. the higher the ticket is. same with my illegal exhaust, which is more expensive. decided to take the tint off and take it easy around cops on the exhaust. alot cheper.. can't wait to get ouf of this state.. and don't think NC has my vote either.

 

^ hey im from nc and i have a complete longtube exhaust without cats and i aint never had no trouble with the cops. And there are a ton of people in my town that have pitch black tint on their cars.

 

yeah, its at the officers disgretion.. kinda sucks.. in va.. basically if it isn't stock its illegal, but guess it depends on how hard up the cops are for a ticket.. nobody really cares.

That sucks yeah VA is pretty hard on anything i got pulled over there for doing 6 over one time. In NC you can have the back and rear side windows as dark as you want but the front sides have to be 35% or higher. And the exhaust is pretty much no concern at all here, no cops seem to care.

 

I think that is stupid how tint can be the reason they pull you over. I could see if it was a secondary offense.

Here in NE, the cops don't care about tint or exhaust which is great.

What did the cop say when you told her it isn't coming off.

The ever popular NYPD where I live are a bunch of ********... if you're driving a nice car or a car that sticks out (mine) you will get pulled over... I don't have tints but any car that has them will get pulled over... however if you're driving an SUV you're pretty safe (my bro has 25% all around on his Explorer and hasn't gotten pulled over)... but guaranteed if I had tints I'd be finished.

 

i too am from nc i only have 35% tint but my exhaust ahem is about as loud as it gets long tubes o/r H and SLP LM1's but i have not had one problem with it hell ive had more said to me about my tinted licenes plate cover than exhaust or anything else

 

I've noticed alot of stock minivans or SUVs (cant remember what at the moment) have dark tint on the side window, and I mean dark where you have to press your face against it. How can that be legal from factory...
