ok my bettery died and i had a friend jump it. i was letting it run to charge battery and it died. i thought it ran out of gas since it was low anyway. but after putting gas in it it wont start. it acts like it wants to but it keeps backfiring thru the cai. could it have jumped time enough to keep it from starting. i just put a new plugs, wires, and coil on it last year.

 

How in the hell would it have jumped timing? Your alternator is most likely dead.

 

I didnt know if it could i just had a cavalier that did that and i had to put a new timing kit on. I will take the alternator off and have it checked. Thanx

 

ok it must of been something with the battery. i had switched it to side post about a month ago. it has 3 ground wires going to the battery and one of them must of come loose. i unhooked both cables and took the cable ends off then rehooked everything back up and its starting just fine now. which is great because by bro-in-law is getting ready to buy the car. im either moving to a 99 and up v6 or a gt.
