I get scared just THINKING about enlisting in the military. I mean, i'm not a ***** or anything, its just i think i have too much to lose if i didn't make it back.......but then again, if someone didn't do it, i wouldn't HAVE anything to lose.

It's intimidating..I wont lie. but as long as you stay cool, keep your head down, and remember what your fighting for back home you'll be fine. good luck justa6, the marines are much more serious than us, and for some reason ya'll ship out alot later, I have a friend going in December, i'll go somewhere between july and august for basic then with the way things are heating up in afghanistan i may not have time to buy my 5.0! haha. but you'll be fine all it takes is the ability to push and an active mind

@jthorn- I'm talking about the 2011, I have had plenty of friends with pushrod 5.0s and worked on quite a few, they are problematic ha..gotta love a warranty.

@Jk- I've put alot of thought into it, it's my final decisions. The benefits and pride are worth more than the money
I just put mine back together for like the 5th time, stupid motor, should of left it stock rofl...

i have done a lot of stupid stuff in my life & one of my biggest regrets is not inlisting to serve my country . Great to have people willing to do it for everyone here.

I'm just fighting for what I have home, for the benefits for my future family, and the physical conditioning. the money is a bonus, gotta make it back to spend it. and thorn don't feel bad, me and my brother are debating on buying a notchback to run either in pro mods or outlaws later in the future, shade tree jobs, ya know! sounds like you got a good plan for life. props!

if i were you, i would wait until you came back to buy anything. there should be a few mildly used ones for cheaper by then. also, have you thought about a house? i know i wouldn't want to come home from the sand box and live in mom and dads house.
