95 V6
Hi I am new to the SN95 platform however that happens to be my wifes favorite style. Since the tranny went in her 99 taurus we decided to do some shopping. She found a 95 V6 for 1200, the pictures look good but I was wondering if there was anything that i should look for specifically.http://elmira.craigslist.org/cto/2217059947.html here is the link. What do you guys think. she is in love with the car so please dont make her shoot me. lol

The link doesnt work.
The big thing to check for with 94-98 sixxer's is blown head gaskets.
94/95 were really bad about blowing head gaskets, they averaged about 140-160k when a large percentage do fail.
My 95' had 163k, My wifes 96' had 146k when it blew.
To be quite honest, a 96-98 would be better for her to buy in case it blew a head gasket. It makes swapping to a 99-04 splitport much easier when the stock motor does blow.
You can still do a splitport swap in a 94/95 but there are a few other things that need to be taken care of.
Check for milky oil, a black sludge or buildup on the underside of the rad cap (Oil in coolant) and any overheating issues.
The temp should stay just a tick under half way when warm, driving and playing with the car.
Other than that, you should expect that there is a lot of general maint that needs to be done to the car because of age.
$1200 is a fair price if its got a perfect car fax, never overheated, is under 130k miles and has no body, chassis, suspension, brake, drivetrain or interior issues.

sorry try the link now i fixed it. well if the motor does go bad i might just stick a 5.0 in it. thanks a bunch for the tips. they usually go for more around here though, unsure of the mileage as of now though
