seats...... anyone use aftermarket?
So........... I find my seats in my 98 very much less comfprtable than the ones that were in my 07, I drive a LOT (400 miles a week) so I had a though. I plan to use http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-80-1000-51L/ these Raly 1000 series seats in my 68 mustang, which is an ongoing project, so I had the thought of going ahead and buying them and using them in my 98 while I own it, I can always take them out and replace the originals in the car when I sell it and use them in the 68 stang im working on. HOPEFULLY they would fit without a problem. Any one used something like this?

Yes I agree. I find the 99-04 style seats to be very comfortable even on long drives. I also like the feel some racing seats give you as they give you that "cockpit" style feel however it does take some getting used to as it is a completely different feel.

But yes I did find my stock seats in my 98 extremely uncomfortable especially in the upper legs on long trips. And I drove that car quite a bit when I was driving 180 miles a day 3 days a week to and from LSU my freshman year there back in 05. I noticed the 99-04 have a hair pin more support for the upper legs and feel much better. I actually prefer my 99 Cobra seats over my racing seats in my 5.0.

It doesnt matter what type of seats I sit in, my back is hurting within 30 minutes.
Actually the only seats I have ever sat in that I felt comfortable in are the ones in like 80ish Delta 88's/Cutlass'/etc. Those are some plush seats.

I am more comfortable in my 00 v6 seats than any other cars I regularly drive
camry, explorer, ram 1500, bmw 3 series
Just saying, you should at least get feedback from the seat before you buy it and I feel everyone sits and looks for something different in seats so you need to find what you look for

The S-197 models where much bigger indeed than the Sn-95s which were bigger than the old Foxbodies. The S-197s were given a slightly wider body to improve turning radius, overall handling, and gave more interior room. They lengthened the car to further improve on those areas. These modifications made the S-197s the best handling Mustang ever created.
Don't know if you saw it but a 2011 Mustang GT just set a world record for fastest production car. This title was tested on some track and while it didn't have the fastest speed per say it did have the fastest time.

I really miss my 197. Even though it was the little 4.0 it waqs an awesome car. Got my heart set on a 197 GT later on. Next year I pay both this car off and my house, as well as a couple other bills. Been looking at GT 197s, found several under $12k and with well under 100,000 miles. But it will be a weekend toy, the little 98' 3.8 will remain daily driver.
