Default Struts/Shocks

Any good recommendations for struts/shocks? I use my 98 for commuting, nothing more. Better handling would be nice, but certainly not necessary. Just looking to replace the old worn factory equipment and restore ride quality. Also, do I need to replace the strut mounts too, or only replace those if they are not right? And will I need an alignment once complete? Thanks!

Latemodel Restoration has a nice shock/strut and spring kit for $325. If you don't want a fancy setup then this is a pretty good way to go.

For a daily driver that hasn't been lifted or lowered, I'd recommend Monroe Sensatrac's for both shocks & struts. I've been using them on my wifey's '98 mustang for 60k miles without any complaints. Still rides great, has a lifetime warranty, didn't break the bank and haven't worn out etc.

You will need an alignment after installing new struts. If the mounts are damaged, worn, cracked or squished then replace them. Otherwise they should be fine.
