Unhappy My Poor Car

Just the other day I was involved in an accident (not my fault). Im terrified that they are going to total my baby and try to take her. I just want them to fix it. I was just hoping someone who knows more about mustang repair can look at a pic of this (cosmetic) damage and tell me what you think.

Its an 04 3.9 competition orange coupe. Always taken care of and low miles. Its still drivable they hit the driver door and rear pannel. NOT willing to total it out and give it to the insurance company.

you can buy it back if they total it, but you will have to fix it out of pocket

I'm new to the site and trying to get the hang of it. I will happily email them to someone who is actually interested in trying to help.

Also thanks everyone for your sympathy. It really sucks!

Like someone further up stated. It they total it out you can take the money they give you and turn around and buy it back, but you will have a salvage title and have to pay for all the repairs yourself. If your lucky they will sell it back for less than they gave you for it and have some money in pocket to repair it. That's if they don't go ahead and fix it that is.

If there was no other damage than sheetmetal then they should repair it for you.

It is your right to get multiple quotes and have your car taken to the shop of your choice.

Make sure that you get a shop that knows what they are doing though and can make the repair look like nothing had ever happened.

As for pictures, upload them to a photo hosting site like photobucket or flickr and then us this code to link them. Please keep the size to 1024x768 or less.

It all depends on how hard you were hit. The problem with being hit in the quarter panel is that if its hard enough you can bend the outer wheel well and force the inner wheel well into the trunk pan and buckle the rear dash. If it was a little bump like they changed lanes into you should be fine. The only thing I can see, is to fix a quarter by replacing it you have to remove ALL the glass from the car and remove the roof. Otherwise it will be pieced together and bondo'd.
