My issue started a few months ago. It was raining I drove through a puddle and the car wouldn't go past 2500 RPM no matter what. It did it for about 45 minutes then was fine. It has done it a few times since then but only while it was raining.

This morning got in it to drive to work hasn't rained for a couple weeks and it won't go past 2200 RPM at all. It will barely shift because of this...

The only thing I'm thinking is the transmission is going bad. The car has 261k miles on it and I know automatics usually only last 130-140k miles. Is there anything else it could be besides the transmission?
