Low Idle
So I just replaced the battery on my 99 V6 because the car would die easily if the engine was off and I would use anything electric for more than 10 minutes or so, but thats not the bad part.
Anyways, I got an OBD2 reader to see when all the codes have been reset so I could take it to get it smogged. Well, I drove it around for a bit, but it was still idling really low (about 500 rpm) and once it even died at the stop light. So I watched a tutorial on youtube. It said to unplug the IAC, start the engine, turn it off, plug it back in and start it again. I did that and it worked... temporarily. I drove it to work and it was normal (800 rpm) but on the way home it started going down to 500 again. The OBD 2 indicated that at one point the IAC was unplugged and IM assuming thats when I did it so I cleared it and the codes are fine but it still idles low. took off the IAC and cleaned the buildup out of it and started it again but it still Idles at 500.
Someone out there please help! I have no idea what to do
! Thanks!
