Default Manual To automatic

Looking to pass off my 99 to wife, however she cant drive manual and was looking to swap it to automatic. What all would i need to do this?

Not worth the cost. Easier and more reliable to sell your car and buy one that is already automatic.

At the very least you need the transmission, pedal box, PCM from the donor car and wiring harness. 99 to mid 2001 I think are similar late 2001 onward made some changes that may not play nice with an older car for a drop-in solution. The issue is the wiring harness between the engine and PCM may not have the same pinouts if you mix/match the PCM and Engine harness.

Something else to consider is that the GT Auto of that year is a dog compared to the GT manual because the auto is a 4-spd.

Why not teach her to drive manual? Replacing the clutch after she burns up what's there is much cheaper and reliable than swapping the tranny
