I joined the forum a couple days ago but last year after purchasing my car I saw a 2005 automatic V6 with only one mod (dualing out the exhaust and installing the appropriate bumber) in my neighborhood. Funny thing, it was burnt to a crisp, freaked me out! I mean the damn things front rims were melted onto the pavement. I asked the guy who drove it what happend and here is his story. He got out of his car parked on the street (his usual parking spot) he heard a loud crack come from the car, he turned around to see what he thought was steam rolling from under the hood. He thought his radiater had cracked. He goes to pop the hood and as he walked to the front flames started shooting out from under the hood. He ran in the house and called the fire department. Flames got so high they nearly reached the powerlines overhead. Turns out that fuel line leading to the fuel injector cracked. Anyways ford ended up giving him a decked out brand new GT. Thing that really scared me at the time was I park mine in the garage which is attached to the house, not to mention all the flamable material that is stored in the garage.

I was wondering if anyone had heard of any other 05's going up in smoke.

 

First I recall hearing about. Hopefully just a freak occurence.

 

Wow! That's one way to get a GT... seriously though... I'd just be heartbroken watching my baby light up like that.

Holy crap! My engine broke (luckily didn't blow up) after 1800 miles but it was a valve seizing up. Ford did give me a brand new engine though. Ever since then no problems - it happened last July.

as bad as that sucks to see a stang go up in flames, i have to admit, that would have been wicked cool to see a car spontaneously combust and shoot powerline towering flames from the hood.......

and folks thought flames out the tail pipes were hardcore.......pishhhhh

 

personaly, i don't think it would have been bad for my car to go up in flames (as long as no one was hurt) if it got me a brand new GT

 

dude, do you know what your friend can do? My father is a Criminal Investigator for the Military and ur friend could have sued the **** out of that ford dealership or ford itself for god knows how much money. Mainly for reckless endangerment. It just depends on what type of person you are

 

However successful that lawsuit would be... I'd advise against it. It's like whenever something bad happens in America there's a huge lawsuit, like someone won the lottery. Everyone is on the edge, looking for someone to sue or trying to avoid a lawsuit... [:@]
