Default RATTLES

After installing some subs the plastic trim toward the rear vibrates pretty bad and makes annoying sounds, as I expected. Before the subs there was the common dash rattle etc. My question is what can I do, or put behind the plastic to get rid of this vibrating noise? I know about dynamat and those products but it would be kinda pricey to do big areas correct?

Also, has anyone found a way to make the trunk not rattle with subs? Thnx

Get some dynamat from Crutchfield. They have other smaller kits and pieces for less.

What they said... Have to use dynamat.

I love this car, but damn the interior is so cheap and plastic filled. They could have at least put felt washers in between all the plastic on plastic joints.

I submitted this on another mustang site maybe it will help you!

There is a vertical inner panel on the passenger side of the trunk. If you carefully pull the side panel black button out (this is just below a round upraised bump on the side panel) and pull the panel away from the side you will see a bolt (where the raised bump was) and on the inside of the vertical metal where this bolt goes through it holds a bracket with what looks like a small round speaker approx 2 to 3" diameter and has an electrical wire on the bottom. Hit the metal panel and you will see that this bracket and speaker?? vibrates and rattles like crazy. What I did is cut some grey eggshell crate type foam and with small plastic ties attached the foam to this part between it and the metal panel it's bolted to. Once I bolted it back in, I took a larger plastic tie and secured it around the bottom of the part at the electrial connection through a small hole in the metal its bolted to and around the edge of the metal where I secured the tie to prevent this thing from vibrating and rattling when driving over rough roads. This seems to have eliminated the trunk or passenger side trunk noise. Another thing I did is line the bottom of the well under the spare tire with a piece of rubber backed carpet as the spare and jack tend to vibrate and make noises also.
