Stupid Question Time
I'm sure this thread is somewhere else, but I'm going to go ahead and ask:
What mods can be done without screwing up the warranty?
I'm thinking my first series will be springs and strut tower bracing, then smaller profile tires.
Later on I would go with the MRT muffler that Scrming's got (I heard it on your site and I like the sound) and possibly the JBA cat-forward headers.
I'm sure exhaust work wouldn't void the warranty, but will a new CAI and tuning void the warranty?
What else is there that I could do?

RE: Stupid Question Time
The only thing that you listed that would void the warranty would be the new tune. The CAI should not void the warranty and definetly not the exhaust or headers, springs, or tires. You could get some Nitrous.

I was also wondering if there's a functional shaker hood kit for the V6?

RE: Stupid Question Time
If you load the stock tune back in before taking it to the shop, they cannot tell the difference.
As prof said, the issue here is the dealership can only dispute a warranty claim if they can prove that your mod was the reason why the problem occurred (whatever it may be). For example, if you changed your tune and they know it, and you burned up your rings, they could justifiably argue that the tune probably caused a lean condition and that led to the failure. However, if your rear end went out they would be hard pressed to blame that on a tune.

RE: Stupid Question Time
Yes there is a functional Shaker for the V6. Check out Fang Performance I have spoken with them on the phone; very nice people. They told me to send in the gas cap and they will have a hood in my car color matched and ready for installation with the shaker system upon my arrival. They will ship the shaker system including unpainted hood; but will NOT ship a painted hood.

I read in several different magazines and websites that if a CAI is installed, the computer has to be reflashed, is that the same as a tune?
