S/C Installed !!
So it's been a long road - but finally got her back from RealSpeed. She was in for almost a week and a half and now it's UNBELIEVABLE!!!!
First off - the system looks perfect tucked into the engine bay. It shifts even better than before and it just keeps pulling and pulling. Dan tuned it and played with it for almost 15 hours of tune time (over 15 runs!!!) and loved how strong the engine is and the kinds of gains that we were getting. (Tuned with SCT instead of the Vortech Diablo tune)
NOW - I DO NOT believe Dyno numbers have much more use than for tuning purposes. Aside from that Dyno's reallly can not judge 1/4's or 0-60 , 0-100 etc... They do not take into account Wheel hop, hooking, and etc...
The fact is that Different Dyno's even in exact weather , altitude etc... will yield different results.
Case in point - My car was custom tuned on a MustangDyno NOT , I REPEAT- NOT , on a DynoJet. Therefore my numbers will not be inline or even comparable to others that have had their cars tuned on a DynoJet. The generally accepted difference in a MustangDyne(o) and a DynoJet is that a MustangDyno will show atleast 5% , on average 10% LESS rear wheel horsepower than the same exact car on a DynoJet. A ton of info is written about this ... http://www.corral.net/forums/showthr...ybrid&t=494181
LIKE I SAID - I only care about Dyno numbers for tuning purposes and NOT for anything else. Now I need to get to a Track and see what this baby can do.
It is SICK how she pulls now. With my Automatic tranny it shoots through 1st and spins the wheels loose into second !! I can;t belive how fast it goes through the speedo
It was late and dark so I couldn't really get to open it up the way I really could have ... so more to come tomorrow I'll post up one of the MustangDyno sheets (MustangDynamometer) after I get to work.
But here are the numbers (MustangDyne Numbers ...)
Max 289* rwhp
Max 287* rwtq
- *For those who really care about Dyno (DynoJet) Numbers add roughly 8% to the rwhp and rwtq (**312 rwhp / 310 rwtq)
Not too bad for an automatic.... but now she needs to get to the track for some real baseline numbers. I'll be back at Realspeed within the next week or so to see how the tune has been running and do some more tweaks

300+ rwhp is not enough?? [sm=alcoholic.gif] LOL LOL - (I love this smiley) -- Remember - it is an Automatic - NOT a 5 speed Manual and you loose hp to it. And remember it's not about just hp .. Like I said hp on a dyno, of any kind, is great for Fantasy IHRA racing ( got to thank Screaming for that one ) BUT you need to see how it does at the track. I really don't put that much into dyno numbers...
The tune is on the more conservative side and never really set to run real lean even up high only tops off at 12.1 max I believe.. I got to get a new printout showing the whole rpm band. Also I am not maxing out to 6000rpm's either and not going for more than 9. something in boost at the most. It shifts with the automatic like a damn crotch rocket. I never had an auto that broke its tires loose shifting into second on dry pavement ... I LOVE IT! I'm not sure about second to 3rd because I need more of a runway and too much traffic since I got it yesterday ... Therefore I must try again someplace isolated
It's hard because before you know it you are coming up hard and fast on anything in your path... This boost is addictive and needs some time to get accustomed to it
I need to get a Video Cam, and am looking to see one that is a good choice. Anyone have any suggestion. I'm looking to picking one up in the next 2 or 3 weeks...but just really busy with work around the house to research all that much... and now I'll be spending alot of free time eating "rice" - LOL
