Hey everyone my job is sending me to the Philippines in August for about 30-60 days for training. Just curious to see if I needed to do anything with my car other than disconnecting the battery while I'm gone.

No, don't drain the oil or gas.... Draining the oil would be terrible on the engine, it would dry out.

I would run the gas down to maybe an 1/8th tank.

Then when you get back, do an oil change and fill the tank. Should be fine after that. Don't know if you really need to disconnect the battery, it may die anyways without being run for so long.

id leave your battery connected for the short term.. incase some punk wants to try and take you car, once he opens the door or moves the window, your horn will start going off

unless your parking inside

That short of a period should be no problem. I do recomend filing the tank. The more gas in the tank the less chance of condensation forming and adding water. You could also add a bottle od Sta-Bil ( SP ? ) You can get it in auto stores. It reduces the chance of water build up. I used it on my boat all the time and it was laid up from October to April. Never had a problem getting it running.
Oil change when you get back.

im not gonna lie.. my cars been sitting for 5 months... i took her out.. started no problem. i didnt even disconnec the battery, or put fuel stabilizer in the tank.. i started her up and drvoe her out.. of course the rust onthe rotors had to be owrn off, and i had to clean the rims after to get the brake dust off... now im just rollingup on my 5000km oil change target.. todays oils arent like they used to be... if i did a test on the oil in my engine right now it would still be a go for another 4000km probobly.. thats why GM has the oil sensors in the oil pan that measures viscosity.. soyou wait till it tells you to change the oil

I stored my 03 Monte Carlo for 4 months and I unhooked the battery and had a full tank of gas. It started right up after I hooked up the battery. Then I changed the oil.
