For those of us with automatics

What is the little cut out on the right side of our bezels. looks like its made to pop out but im afraid to break it off if its not

That is your shift release, in case you need to put the car in neutral when there is no power to the car. I.E. you need a tow or something. I had to use it when I blew out some electrical relay's. It's also in the owners manual.

I think it can also be used as an emergency release if the transmission gets stuck in park, such as when you park on an incline and forget to put your emergency brake on before shifting to park.

When I bought my car I noticed that and asked the saleslady what it was (before I read the owner's manual). I wish I could remember what she said, it was pretty funny! Something like "that's how they remove the console from the car"- LOL!

yea your right in my old car the tranny used to get stuck in park and i had to use that
