Default Not properly introduced myself...

...sorry, almighty forum....I began posting on this forum and I never introduced myself...Previously owner of mostly foreign cars, except for the PT Cruiser I had before my stang, I must say I was weary about getting into a FORD, but I always liked the classic mustang look. SO, went out & bought myself an '06 Vert V6 Black on black on black...and love it! Since day one, I started the mods "addiction"...it all started with a K&N Drop-In, then progressed to interior Billet accessories, GT Grille+foglights, 8" stubby antenna, Super 40's CatBacks true duals, K&N CAI, and more to come...I just want to say thanks for the advice that the forum has given me and I look forward to many more posts to come....Thanks y'all for the hospitality

PS...I will posting pics of my stang soon...

C'ya (Happy modding!)

I was wondering though...as far as wheels go....I can't decide on whether on changing from the 06 Stock retro rims or changing? I kinda like the retro rims but I wanna add the tru tri-bar spinners on them...anyone know where I can find them for cheap?

Welcome aboard! Interestingly enough I also had a PTC just before the Mustang. Talk about 2 completely different vehicles! Is yours a Pony Package? If not, you've got the same wheels as me probably. I wish they could hold wider tires and were easier to clean, but I really like the looks of them. They remind me of the late 60's Shelby wheels. If you've got the Pony Package then you have the 17" Bullets. I like those wheels too, they remind me of the old American Racing mags or the Cragars.

Thanks Tres...
2 different vehicles indeed...the PTC lacked power but it had the retro looks..now the stang is the toatl package (especially the verts!)
Initially I was debating whether to get the stang or hold out for this fella (see link)!

http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html

As far as the pony package...nah I have what the local ford dealers called the "half pony" package...I have the tri-bar emblems, my color dash with chrome accents and the side stripe (like yours)...but I do not have the Bullits...after I mod'd it I added the GT grille/lights...I too like the standard 06 wheels...but now I want to add the tri-bar spinners...but they are running kinda pricey out there...about $80-$90

I think because of the new bodystyle (retro) that the stang should remain sorta retro look...not too much visible mods (like flashy rims, neons, too much chrome, etc)...

I really loved the Challenger right up until I saw it at the Dallas Auto Show. It is HUGE!!! It's a really big car, I had no idea looking at the pics on the 'net. It is built on the Chrysler 300 chassis, and the 300 is a big 4 door car. That chassis makes for a huge 2 door car. The Camaro show car looks a lot better, it's closer to the size of the Mustang. It was really loaded with "unobtanium" stuff though, strictly a show car.

It sounds like you have the Exterior Appearance Package, didn't your wheels come with the Ford tri spinners? I replaced mine with the pony spinners, but in retrospect they are not worth the cost over the stock spinners because you just don't notice them.

Nope, they came with no spinners at all...I would like to get my hands on the Tri-bar ones!

It's a shame about the challenger, it really was a nice car (back in da day!)....No regrets on my new stang though...just have a mod addiction now!!!

AAAAAAAArrgh!

i think it would have been a more practical car than the one that they decided to go with ... dont u? i find the other one looks too plastic and fake

Yes, that is very sweet! I believe that was not done by GM though, it was done by some people outside of GM and floated around the internet to widespread acclaim. Unlike Ford, GM is afraid of going too retro though, they thing it will cause a backlash. Is it any wonder they're in such financial trouble? They are run by a bunch of ultra-conservative pencil pushers. It's a shame!

Do you have the regular painted wheels or the polished ones? The EAP came with the polished wheels and Ford tri spinners in '05, I thought it was the same for '06 but maybe not. The regular painted wheels came with a Ford cap with no spinner bars on it.
