Default Battery or Antitheft system!??!!! HELP!!

ok.. so about 35 minutes ago I was at home and i go out to my car and open the door.... I sit down insert the key and blank... no ignition... nothing.... the dash lights came on for a split second then i hear a clicking noise coming from the dash, then my antitheft system light keeps flashing!!!??!? also, if my doors are open.. the windows keep going down very very slowly and there is no way to put them back up... also if i try and lock the doors from my key remote, it wont even do that.. i have to manually lock the doors..... so... is this a product of a dead battery that needs to be jumped?!??! or a product of my antitheft system being retarded....???? i never really ran into a situation such as this, so any help would be much appreciated... im at work now... someone dropped me off.. so ill have to resolve this when i get home..

It sounds like a dead battery. Check to see if your battery termimals are tight. Or it could be an electrical problem. My car went throug a similar thing. I ended up taking it to the dealership and they replaced the keyless entry modual in my smart junction box.

A similar thing happened to my wife's Focus. The key has a computer chip inside and in her car the computer didn't recognize her key.

Dead battery.. Jump start that puppy! Just make sure you don't get the cables crossed. Batteries don't like that for some strange reason.

do you have a jumper pac or would you use another car. if using another car hook the cables up to your car first then on the other car to the hot and then to a chassis ground. let the car sit for awhile as you let the charge car run for a bit. see if the windows and stuff then work. when you are ready to start you may want to unplug the alternator on you charge car before you try to start and when your car starts dont rev it untill you unhook. some of the new cars dont like to be used as a jump car. all the electronics and such. good luck.
