Default Need Muffler HELP

Hey, my car is coming out of the shop (wrecked) on Thursday or Fri. . I want to upgrade my muffler to a Borla or a Ford racing. I haven't had much luck finding a Ford Racing in stock and the Borla is to expensive on some sites. But I need the part in 3 or 4 days. So, I would go with either one if I can get fast service. Please Help. Thanks for any Info.

Have you gone to your local Ford dealership?

btw... The Ford Racing muffler is made by Borla... it's the same muffler.

Yeah, the Ford racing muffler seems to be on back order for 2 to 3 weeks everywhere I have looked. I found a Borla @ parts and acessories . It is a 10 day wait. But at $333 is a good price. The guy on the phone sounded like he was from the middle east. But they don't allow any returns only exchanges. So I am a little cautious.

What about MRT, Magnaflow, JBA or Flowmaster axleback mufflers. They all flow better than stock.

Really?! I got my Ford Racing exhaust three weeks ago, and it took my dealer TWO DAYS to get it in. Also, I saved about $80 over the catalog price by ordering from my dealer, who is a wholesaler. In total, it cost me just over $200, tax included. They also installed it in less than 20 minutes.

Unfortunately, I'm up in the northern part of the state, and I don't know if you have any wholesaler dealers down there, but if you do, I'd go that route.

Jstang, I heard the clips of yours(I THINK it was you at least). How do you like it so far? Do you prefer it over a dual setup?

Teacherman -- Wasn't my clips, but I listened to them before I bought mine and it sounds very similar.

I'm quite impressed with the sound and increase in performance over the stock setup. I've noticed the drone getting a bit deeper and more even-sounding (not as much reverberation...if that's the right word) over the past week or so. I've put on about 600-700 miles since I got it, so I figure I should be hitting that break in point soon, if I haven't already.

As for the dual setup, there were two key reasons I didn't do it. First, I didnt' want to cut the bumper or get a new bumper (yet). Second, since my only air intake mod is a K&N drop-in filter, I figured the dual might draw too much air out and cost me performance at this point. So, I'm not really too sure how it compares (performance-wise) to the dual setup. I do think it would have a real mean sound with dual Ford Racing mufflers, but there again, I'm not sure if they make them to be mounted on the driver's side. Edit: I think the look of the two 3 1/2" chrome pipes out of the back would look great also.

I'm kind of stuck in between deciding if I want to do "go" or "show" with my mods right now. After talking to the guy at the dealership, I'm kind of leaning toward the "go" for now, since an X-Cal and CAI would cost me about 1/2 what they estimated the cost of painted stripes would be (this dealer strongly advised against vinyl stripes as an add-on). The thing is...my car is satin silver, which I find to be a bit boring by itself as a color. I'd like something to break up the monotony a bit. I was considering a rear black-out panel between the tail lights, as they are relatively cheap, and there are easy-to-install panels out there (the GTS one is the one I'm considering).
