Default True Duals on a V6

Anybody out there have true duals on a V6... i.e. not a Y-Pipe, but true duals? Where did you get it and how does it perform?

From what i hear, you won't gain much performance going duals. It's mostly done for looks/sound. The biggest hp gain you get from exhaust for the 4.0 is by changing out the stock muffler. That being said, JBA has a bolt-on true dual exhaust.

I have a 2005 Mustang V6 and replaced the factory muffler with a MAC single outlet muffler. Beautiful piece ! My wife feels the MAC is too loud and wants me to return to the factory muffler. Unfortunately the stock factory V6 muffler is in the trash.

Will the right side muffler for a 2005-2006 Mustang V8 fit?

Are you interested in a MAC muffler for your Mustang?

I got true duals installed today and about twenty minutes after driving it around I went back to have them install the h pipe and I love the sound. I agree true duals sound like civics under the car...

It's all in how you install the duals.

With the mufflers so close to the bumper, the sound has no time to resonate, and can sound like crap.

I've got two true duals, no crossover. I only have glasspacks midcar. No drone what so ever. I have 21" Silverline tips in place of the mufflers.

I don't have any high pitched chirps or any ricey sound what-so-ever.

Here's an old clip I made: http://www.hedkrash.com/Recording1.wav

Since then the glasspacks have broken in more, and I've installed the C&L CAI, which deepened the tone a bit. That recording was made on a cellphone, so it isn't great quality.

I had a local muffler shop that I'm friends with do the install for me.

With all the problems I keep hearing everyone having with their aftermarket exhaust, I'm very happy I decided not to go that route.

True duals (straight pipes) sound like crap on our cars, get a Y, X or H pipe.

I did the swap with a GT muffler and love the result. Not too loud, not a problem with the convertible and my wife likes it also. I replaced the stock air filter with a K&N drop in filter and that should do it for engine modifications for me. Nice sound.
