Just wondering. I have dual Flowmasters/exhaust on my new 06' and it sounds good. Whats the point of getting headers, someone told me the factory headers are very good and it would be a waste of money. By the way, how much for new headers???? And where do you go to get them? I live in California (yuck I know)

I understand that there are two benefits.....

a) Better flow.....(OEM is not bad but could be improved).

b) Heat..... Mine are coated in ceramic, this is supposed to dissipate heat better keeping the engine compartment cooler. (cooler air for the CAI)

 

Aren't new headers a bit pricey? Also labor??

 

Pricey yeah, but the sound wiil compliment the H exhaust and as far as labor you can do ur-self.... not very hard.

 

i've done 3 sets of headers on 05s now, with maybe doing a 4th soon.

 

You'll pick up a minor performance gain with headers... maybe 5-7 rwhp or so. But, the true reason is the sound... it'll make your already excellent exhaust note simply snarl!

Where to get them? I order mine from Don and http://www.v6mustangstuff.com/ - I have the titanium-finish, ceramic-coated JBA cat4ward headers.

 

how much more gain do long tubes offer over shorties?

 

Do they even make long tubes for our v6?

 

Yea, MAC makes LT's for the V6.
