As I said, synthetic is definately a better oil. Much more slippery. You will get slightly better performance and fuel economy.
It also won't produce ash on the cylinder walls that eventually contaminates your oil. The oil will stay cleaner longer.
All I'm saying is is it worth $5 a quart? Only you can decide that for yourself.

I was told by a ford mechanic that the engines are tested at the plant before the car ships and in that time the engine has already had a good headstart for the breaking in process.
I heard a similar story too.
