using computer to tune...
just downloaded the extreme tune but i have no way to hook my tuner up to my computer. Was alternativeauto supposed to give me a cable? If not, where do i get one? I really want to play around with this thing!

This is a standard USB cable. You can get one at Staples for $10. If you have a PC printer that was made in the last 2 years or so, odds are it is a USB printer. Just borrow that cable for a few minutes.

ok, more questions! im trying to use the extreme tune. its opens up and i see the page with the file name and all that and i just press 'program x-cal 2' and the dialog screen comes up and i press program device but nothing happens. I down loaded a bunch of crap from the sct site. what am i doing wrong???

eventually i can get it to where i can click the customize button and i go to a different screen, but when i start to try to adjust, an error report comes up and it closes out! gosh dangit, i want it to work!

If you bought your Xcal2 with tunes loaded onto it from Alternative Auto (Lidio), you don't NEED the cable....
The only reason you will need the cable is if you have the tunes in the form of a computer file (.xtr extension) that you can load into the SCT software and adjust....and I don't think Lidio will hand out the tunes like that.
So---I suggest you put the cable away before you mess up your Xcal2 and have to send it back to him to be reloaded
The on-device adjustments should work and be all that you need to adjust---if anything!! I haven't touched the tune since loading it into our 'stang months ago. The only time I've been tempted was at the track---was wishing for an increase in shift pressure, but I didn't bother trying. It works really well "as is."
