A Springfield Armory 1911A1 is great, on a serious note, most new cells have GPS built in for 911 purposes. Good look with that though! I prefer my garage, it is a great place to park my car.

I know they sell motion-activated spinklers that would give them a shock. Wanna up the anti? Run a hose from your home's hot water heater to the sprinkler and crank it to scalding. (j/k, kinda)

Lowe's has a battery powered motion detector that when triggered sends a signal to the unit you have in the house plugged into a wall socket. Cool thing is you can have it turn on a lamp (there's an outlet on the unit) and / or sound an audible alarm. Dont what the effective range is but could be worth checking out.

Why am I picturing all of these scalded and burned cats, dogs and kids with some of these ideas LOL...

however, I do like the motion activated propane flame thrower... it's very clean burning, ya know...
