Default How will this effect performance?

I just purchased 4-17" GT take off wheeels and tires from Steeda. The deal is awsome. I currently have 16" spinners. How will this effect accelleration going to a larger wheel? Will I notice alot of handling change? Also, will I have to make changes to my X-Cal tune? Thanks for your input in advance.

I noticed an increase in handling, and a slight decrease in acceleration.

You should notice better handling especially curves and cornering because you have about 3/4" more tread on the road compared to the 215/65-16 stock spinners. You do not need to change your xCal tune since both sets are about 27" high which will not effect your speedo.

You will notice better grip on wet roads with the 17" Pirelli's versus the stock 16" BFG's. I didn't notice any performance changes going from 16's to 17's, as they have different aspect ratios that make the overall diameter almost identical. You will love the 17" P-Zeros.

My take offs arrived today from Saleen....

Already put them on and am very happy, I took the spinners off the stock premium wheels and put them on the Bullitts.

The tire/wheel size is VERY close, so the speedo shouldn't be a problem.

I did do a comparison of the weight of the premium wheels (approx 50 lbs) verses the "new" Bullitts (57 lbs.)

After a quick ride the extra 28lbs (7 x 4 wheels) was not noticed at all (my car is stock.... so far.... thinking of a cat back muffler, then possibly CAI with tuner).

Do they offer the premium alloy wheels? Or just the bullits? And how much did Steeda ask?

For the price, you'll like the P-zeros. I was pleasantly surprised at my first "open track" event at how well they gripped the track.

The wheels I am getting are the Bullits off of the GT's. The wheels and tires, mounted and balanced are $425. I thought it was a ggod offer.

the pzeros are a great improvement over the bfg's. But still a real shizzy tire. At the track they take some mastering to get the launch down.

my takeoffs are the premiums
bought em from a guy in my local club so no shipping $ (I kept the stocks for winter)
better handling but it seems to have made braking distance longer
its less apparent now after 500 miles or so but it felt longer at first
anyone else notice this?
