Default SWEET rims

I saw these rims and thought to myself "those are the ones!" Then I looked at a website that actually sells them and saw the price tag. Ouch!!

Those are pretty nice... very similar to the upgraded stock rims with spinners. If you like that look, but are wanting to go with a bigger tire, that's a good way to go.

Nice rims are generally never cheap.

I thought, being American Racing, they'd be reasonable. But they do have Carroll Shelby's name on them so I should have known better.

The polished ones (they come with a gray painted center also) in 17" or 18" sizes are anywhere from $300 to $350 apiece from what I saw.

I won't buy rims for a while. I want my car to be faster before it gets more stylish. It's already a hot car!! But when I do buy some, I want to achieve some sort of "modernized retro" look... whatever that means. 17" chrome Bullitts would be cool, but I see so many peole with Bullitts.

Those look a lot like the Edelbrock 454 whells that I liked for awhile, and they have about the same pricetag. I agree with going for the modernized retro look. I'm thinking that I'm going to go with the FR500 wheels, I like them a lot, but I don't know if spinners will work with them. I really like the spinner look. Anyone know?

These are replica's or knock-offs the Halibrand wheel that's been around forever (going back to the Shelby Cobra days). There's several companies around that make this style of wheel including Halibrand. I bought my 17" Halibrand Cobra III's from Discount Tire for less than $200 each and love them. From time to time, you can find pretty good deals on this style wheel from Halibrand direct on ebay too.

As I noted, you can find these direct from halibrand on ebay from time to time. Their seller id is halibrandperf. Here's a set of 18" Chrome Halibrand Cobra III's that didn't sell. Buy it now price was $640.

Had I known that I could have picked up the chrome 18"'s for $650 I would have probably chosen these instead of the "standard" Cobra III's. I think this is a great deal for $650.

More Halibrands On Ebay

There's no auction for them right now but it appears they are still available in their online ebay store?

Shoot...now I might have to upgrade to 18" wheels!
